During pregnancy and birth there can be a lot of new words, interventions, and sometimes even a change in plans. When something changes, it can feel daunting to try to gather enough information to make a well-informed decision. Using your BRAIN can help to facilitate asking the right questions for you to ensure that you know all of the options available to you. Knowing the information about each choice allows you to make a the best, informed, decision for you and your family. Whenever a new thing is presented, ask... "B- What are the benefits? R- What are the risks? A- What are the alternatives? I- What is my intuition telling me? N- What happens if we do nothing or wait a little while?" I recommend saving the image above to your phone to use as a reminder of it during labor. Now you are prepared to know what to ask if something comes up that you are unsure of or if plans need to change. ~ Aubrey McMillan, Certified Doula
